Depending on the type, different herbal and spice blends are served.
The ayurveda tea is drunk according to the recognized doshas, these are vata, pitta, kapha and various mixed doshas.

The possible herbal and spice variants are inexhaustible. They are tasty and extraordinarily versatile. They can even be adapted to individual tastes.

Thus the vata type needs a lot of warmth, e.g. by warming and sharp spices, as for example cinnamon, pepper, cloves or derived individual mixtures.

The pitta type, on the other hand, needs a cooling refreshing tea, e.g. cooling mint, raspberry leaves, lemon grass, cardamom or corresponding tea variations. The pitta type is the only dosha type allowed to drink the tea cooled down.

For the kapha type hot and spicy teas are ideal, e.g. chilli, pepper, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, coriander or derived individual mixtures.

For all dosha mix types a combination of the different ayurveda spices is ideal.

Our tip for the morning at home:

© rawpixel.com

Tea is a very healthy stimulant, but remember that we do not pour green tea too hot. 80°C is a good temperature, wash the pot out hot beforehand and then pour a good organic green tea (organic) into a pot or cup. You take about 1 level teaspoon per cup. Leave to infuse for 3 to 5 minutes before removing the leaves or decanting the tea. As morning tea you can add a few slices of fresh ginger, a few slices of lemon or lime. This gives the tea a nice infusion with the valuable ingredients of citrus fruit and fresh ginger.
This way you will start the day well.

If you prefer to drink your tea in the evening, please remember not to drink it too late, you should aim for a restful, uninterrupted sleep. Instead of the invigorating ginger you can now use a knife point of cinnamon powder or a small cinnamon stick and for the cold season, to match the cinnamon, replace the lemon with a slice of apple.

Ayurveda is extraordinarily diverse (in a positive sense).
